Industrial Guttering

Whatever your problem, our gutter cleaning, replacement and lining services will provide a cost effective solution to protect your building and save you money.

Gutter cleaning:

it's surprising how often this simple task is not carried out until there is a visible problems. Gutter cleaning alleviates gutter problems. Proactive maintenance ensures gutters are clear of debris and continue to allow rainwater to run away as originally intended, without restrictions. Regular gutter cleaning helps prevent costly repairs and potential stock/ product damage.

Gutter renewal:

Another option is to over-lay your existing gutters with a gutter re-lining system. we use a number of gutter re-lining systems including Plygene and Uni-fold. Re-lining systems allow the existing gutter to remain in situ, and with no dismantling works internal disturbance is kept to a minimum.

Birds:

Believe it or not industrial roofs and gutters are also a breeding ground for wildlife, particularly Herring Gulls. Herring Gulls create nests on roofs which are not only unsightly and un

hygienic but can cause superficial damage to the roof covering. This can also lead to gutters being filled up with debris and pools of water building up. Unfortunately Herring Gulls nest in colonies and once established return to the same nesting site year upon year so this problem is unlikely to resolve itself.

We are registered with the Environment Agency and licenced to take, damage or destroy the nests or eggs of Herring Gulls.

However, our preferred method to controlling nuisance gull populations is regular inspection of the affected roof area, when eggs are discovered they can be removed and substituted with plastic imitation eggs.

Note: Scientific studies have shown that urban gulls will accept imitation eggs in place of their own in the nest.

Imitation eggs have a higher success rate of controlling gull populations than traditional methods, they reduce the number of hatchings and future recruits, reducing the gull population in the long term in an environmentally friendly and humane way.

Repairs:

Although we do not recommend repairs as a long-term option, (from our experience most of these don't seem to stand the test of time or guarantee a long-term solution). If you have a troublesome leak we can find an answer to your problems.

Emergency Repairs:

If you have an urgent roofing issue, we provide an emergency roof repair service. We are always available to offer genuine solutions and deal with issues promptly and proficiently. We aim to attend all emergencies within twenty-four hours.

It is worth noting that building envelope guarantees may not be valid if the required building maintenance is not carried out and recorded, we can help with this also.

Asbestos Roofing And Sheeting

Asbestos cement cladded buildings are now becoming a concern due to the fragile nature of the product. Along with the well documented health risks asscociated with asbestos fibres, asbestos cement roofs are now reaching the end of their 'fit for purpose' lifespan. This means roof sheets may be in poor condition, leading to roof leaks.

There are various liquid sealant products on the market that claim to remedy leaking asbestos cement products but from our experience most of these don't seem to stand the test of time or guarantee a long-term leak free solution.

So what are my options?

This is certainly the best option for any building. This process consists of stripping all the existing asbestos cement sheeting system from the building and then replacing it with a new coated steel cladding system.

Advantages of strip and replace:

  • There is no asbestos left within the building envelope

  • All previous concerns with the old roof are eliminated

  • Visually the building will look like new, inside and out

  • The building's value should increase dramatically

  • Systems are available that could vibrantly change  the appearance of the building.

Over cladding:

Although strip and replacement is the best choice, as with most things in life it comes at a price. Not only within the project costs, there's also the potential disruption the scope of work may have on the use of the building until the project is complete. this is when over-cladding the existing system comes into it's own.

Advantages of over-cladding:

  • Reduced interruption to customer processes

  • More cost effective

  • Will increase the lifespan of the building
